Mr. Daniel Richardson

Destitutus ventis, remos adhibe, the Latin proverb meaning, “If the wind does not serve, take to the oars” is Daniel Richardson’s motto. Perseverance and resolve are two qualities that he brings to Phenix as the new principal. Daniel Richardson was appointed principal of Phenix Elementary School in July.

Graduating from Longwood with a BA in History and Liberal Studies, Mr. Richardson pursued careers in archaeology and management before changing paths to education. He has taught kindergarten through second grade and has experience as a reading specialist. In Appomattox, he was the Division Instructional Technologist, an Administrative Assistant at Appomattox Primary, and Instructional Data Coach. He also is an adjunct faculty member at CVCC.

Mr. Richardson lives in Appomattox with his wife, Adele, who teaches first grade in Appomattox. They have two sons, Noah and Caleb. With Mr. Richardson’s guidance, Phenix looks forward to smooth sailing in the 2019-20 school year.
